The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a flagship rooftop solar initiative launched by the Government of India to encourage widespread adoption of clean energy and reduce household electricity costs. Under this scheme, residential homeowners can install rooftop solar power systems on their homes with significant government subsidies, making solar electricity much more affordable.
The scheme aims to support one crore households across the country by providing financial assistance for rooftop solar installations of up to 3 kW capacity, enabling homes to generate clean power right from their own rooftops.
